Coastal & Dry Forest Walk — Bayahibe
A gentle way to explore the Dominican dry forest near Bayahibe — its birds, its plants,
and its hidden treasures.
Guided Walk & Birdwatching from Bayahibe village, Dominican Republic.
For travelers, families, schools, companies, and nature lovers — Approx. 2 hours
Experience Overview
Far from the tourist crowds, this short and gentle walk takes you into the dry forest near Bayahibe village, where we explore local flora and emblematic bird species.
Together, we pause to listen to birdsong, spot movements in the treetops, and deepen our understanding of local species. We explore native, endemic, and invasive plants, and learn how they shape the dry‑forest ecosystem.
As we move along the coastal path, you may spot the tiny Vervain Hummingbird gathering nectar and hovering like a bumblebee, the Northern Mockingbird singing with many voices, and the Hispaniolan Woodpecker tapping and carving the wood.
We also encounter characteristic plants of the dry forest, such as jasmine with its delicate fragrance, the nicker nut with its treasure‑filled but prickly fruits, and the noni tree whose flowers attract numerous butterflies.
An invitation to open your eyes and ears for a deep connection with nature.
This experience can also be combined with a private yoga session for a full morning of well-being.
